Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Ardenvale Construction ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through ardenvaleconstruction.com and how we use it. By using this site or contacting us, you consent to this policy.
This policy is written to reflect our obligations under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs how private-sector organizations in Ontario collect, use and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity. It applies to this website and to the inquiries, quote requests and project correspondence that reach us through it. It does not change the terms of any signed construction contract, which governs the project itself.
Information we collect
- Information you give us, when you submit a form or contact us: your name, email, phone, project or property details, and any files you choose to upload.
- Information collected automatically, basic technical and usage data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) via cookies and analytics tools, to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.
- Project and site information, where you send drawings, specifications, tender documents, photographs, site addresses or building details so that we can scope and price the work. Please do not send us information you are not entitled to share, and do not send personal information about third parties beyond what a quote requires.
- Correspondence, including the content of emails and messages you send us and our replies, and notes taken during calls or site visits about the scope discussed.
- Interaction data, such as which pages you viewed, how you arrived at the site, the approximate region derived from your IP address, and anonymized session recordings and heatmaps that show how pages are used. These recordings capture page interactions, not the contents of anything you type into a form field.
How we use it
To respond to your inquiry, prepare quotes, provide construction services, operate and improve the site, and meet legal and security obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
More specifically, we use personal information to identify and contact you about a project, to prepare and revise estimates, to coordinate with your consultants, trades and the municipality where a project proceeds, to keep records required for insurance, WSIB, permits, warranty of workmanship at law and tax purposes, to detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the site, and to measure which pages and campaigns bring qualified inquiries so we can spend our marketing budget sensibly.
Consent and withdrawing it
We collect personal information with your knowledge and consent. Submitting a form, emailing us or calling us is your consent for us to use that information to respond and to carry out the work you are asking about. For analytics and advertising cookies, consent is given through your continued use of the site and your browser and device settings, which you can change at any time.
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by emailing [email protected]. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a quote or continue a service. Where we are required to retain records by law, for example tax or health-and-safety records, we will retain those for the required period even after you withdraw consent.
Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run the site and our analytics, including Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. These providers process limited data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
In full, the categories of provider we rely on are:
- Hosting, delivery and security: Cloudflare, which serves this site and filters malicious traffic.
- Analytics and product measurement: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, and PostHog, which tell us how the site is used.
- Advertising and conversion measurement: Google, Microsoft Bing, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn, which measure whether an advertisement led to an inquiry and allow us to show ads to people who have visited the site.
- Email delivery: Amazon Web Services (Simple Email Service), which transmits form submissions and our replies.
These providers act on our instructions for the purposes described here. Each operates under its own privacy terms, and we do not control those terms.
Where your information is stored
We are located in Ontario, Canada. Several of the providers above operate infrastructure in the United States and other countries, which means your personal information may be stored or processed outside Canada. While it is outside Canada it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there under those laws. We use providers that offer contractual protections comparable to Canadian requirements, but we cannot exempt them from foreign legal process.
Cookies
We use essential and analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work as well if you do.
Essential cookies keep the site secure and working. Analytics cookies tell us which pages are read and where visitors leave. Advertising cookies let us measure whether an ad produced an inquiry and show ads to previous visitors. You can control cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com and of many other vendors at youradchoices.ca. Blocking analytics or advertising cookies does not stop you from using the site or contacting us.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers above, with your consent, or where required by law. We do not sell or rent your data.
Where a project proceeds, we may also share the information necessary to do the work with the trades, suppliers, consultants, engineers and municipal authorities involved in it. We share what the task requires and no more. If our business is ever sold, merged or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction, and the acquiring party would remain bound by this policy or a policy at least as protective.
Retention & security
We keep information only as long as needed for your inquiry or our services and applicable legal requirements, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it.
In practice, inquiries that do not become projects are kept while the opportunity is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Project records, contracts, invoices and safety documentation are kept for the longer periods that tax, limitation-period, insurance and construction legislation require. Safeguards include encrypted transmission, restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and providers selected for their security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us at [email protected].
You may also ask what personal information we hold and how it has been used or disclosed, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. We will respond within thirty days or tell you why we need longer. We may need to verify your identity first, and there are narrow circumstances where the law requires or permits us to withhold information, for example where releasing it would reveal personal information about another person. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
This site is directed at property owners, developers, managers and construction professionals. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to third-party websites we do not control, including supplier, association and government pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information.
Accessibility
We aim to meet AODA accessibility standards. If you need this information in another format or require an accommodation, contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
Material changes to how we handle personal information will be reflected here before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy, so it is worth checking the date above from time to time.
